Review: Lanier World

Sunset Cove * Big Beach * Family Fun Park

By Anchor Mom/ Carla Walker ~ CTW Living July 16, 2017

We were recently invited to go to Lanier World for this review. My opinions as always are mine, my families, and friends attending the experience with Macaroni Kid Augusta.

Our family had a wonderful opportunity to experience Lake Lanier with friends and all I can say is that we absolutely love this place. Our trip began with excitement and ended with my son (13) and my nephew (10) both left asking how much would it cost us to come back.

The park is staffed by enthusiastic youth who are ready to serve with a smile. Most were very knowledgable about the park happenings and ride reviews from personal experiences.

The park was super fun for all ages. Adult can relax a bit and enjoy one another on the “Big Beach” while your favorite movies, videos, and music broadcast from the “Spectacular Screen”. The children play in a well marked roped off area. I would recommend an umbrella or perhaps a cabana for a very quiet and relaxing getaway. Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty and you and your family are free to swim at your own risk.

Safety is their #1 concern…. Signage is visible and readable at a distance, which is very comforting. The staff made recommendations, but were not at all pushy. Life jackets are located all over the park and easily accessible. There is plenty of space to spread out to soak sunbathe, nap, or just to chill and listen to the laughter and music being played for all to enjoy.

The price is fair in comparison to other near by parks and makes for a great day trip or weekend getaway. The park prices, refreshments, and souvenirs aren’t too expensive and I would most certainly recommend securing a locker upon arrival. Super FAIR! You get more than you pay for. This goes for season passes, drink cups & refills, food, gifts, lockers and free parking!

The park is managed well to be staffed mainly by young adults. If a team member working does something extra special, point it out. I can tell that it is most certainly appreciated!

The first thing we all decided to do together was the “ Wild Waves Wave Pool” the kids couldn’t get enough of this trilling experience. They were not afraid to dive right into the waves or to ride them back. The day we went it was not at all crowned and was still quite pleasant for all who desired to enjoy the ride.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the "Raging River" and WOW. It was worth the wait. We decided to go down alone rather in pairs The whole team ensured the experience was a great one from start to finish.

Shortly afterwards they decided it was time to race to the bottom on “Double Down”.  If you are competitive in nature this ride is an opportunity to gain a few bragging rights.

...and if that wasn’t thrilling enough you most certainly don’t want to exit the park without testing your nerves on the Intimidator and Triple Threat. The boys raved about the plummet straight down. My son was so pumped, he wanted to go back for more!

The boys also had a ball in “Bucky’s Battle Ball Court”. My 13 year old son kept going back for more while the his friend and cousin both played at “Big Beach”. My son and nephew who are both height challenged literally did a flip on the white sandy beach when they realized they were tall enough for this experience.

It goes without saying we are looking forward to another wonderful experience at Lanier World.
