Review & GIVEAWAY for Stone Mountain Christmas

Now - January 3, 2018

By Scarlett McQueen & The Rodriguez Family ( local family ) December 24, 2017

My family always has a great time at the Stone Mountain Christmas during the holidays. It's been an every year Christmas tradition ever since our 1st visit in 2014. We are so thankful to the Stone Mountain for providing these giveaway tickets. Here are the highlights of the NEW things Stone Mountain has to offer this holiday season. I even added some great photos of our family and friends from previous visits during the holiday season. I would definitely add Stone Mountain Christmas to your families list of memory making experiences. Check out the Stone Mountain Christmas experience by our local friends the Rodrequiez Family. Although we were granted admission to the park. The opinions expressed within the review are honest and completely our own.

Our first family adventure at Stone Mountain did not disappoint.  Our kids, ages 6 and 7, could see the lights from the parking lot and they were ready to explore.  Since we arrived around dinner time, we decided to fuel up first at the Campfire Grill.  Clarice the Reindeer and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer greeted us before we entered the restaurant and we got a quick photo opportunity.  We weren’t expecting much being at a park restaurant, but both our picky eaters found something they really enjoyed, and the fried chicken would rival that of any of the major chains.  The wait staff was friendly, and Mrs. Claus even showed up to say hello.

Shortly after dinner, we got to see the nightly Christmas Parade including the arrival of Santa Claus. The kids were jumping up and down dancing to the music and waving back at all the characters.  Parade doesn’t last long at all, and we were off to catch the Singalong Train to hear Christmas tunes and see the story of the first Christmas in The Gift.  While the speakers could have been a little louder, we all could see the words on the tv screens and it was enough excitement that one of our kiddos was reminded not to dance in the isles while the train was moving, so we had to tone down the Christmas spirit just a bit. Always great to see them having fun.

After the train we headed up through the Wonderland Walkway, a dazzling tunnel of lights guiding you to the Snow Angel Palace, where the kids got to decorate their own Christmas cookie and be part of the experience of telling the story of Angelina the Snow Angel in A Wish For Snow. Another photo opportunity with Angelina was very special. By this time we were glad to have brought our heavier jackets as the night air can be chilly on the mountain.

The only show we had time to make it to was Littlest Christmas Tree.  The kids enjoyed the storyline and intimate setting that made them feel like they were part of the show.  They clapped and sang along with the music, and laughed at the crazy character antics along the way.  It was definitely able to keep their attention, which at that age is always appreciated.

The adults really enjoyed the hand-blown glass ornaments demonstration and the gift shop was a great display of items made right there at Stone Mountain.

Be sure to stay for the magical Snow Angel Snowfall Finale to wrap up the evening.  The fireworks were a nice touch as well as the “snow” falling from the sky.  My daughter would like to make sure to warn everyone not to eat the snow!  “It tastes like soap”.  We took her word for it.

We were there just over 4 hours.  I would say next time we will plan to add a few more in order to catch more shows and have time to shop! ~ The Rodriguez Family ~
