Child Sexual Exploitation and Sex trafficking… What is it really?

By Non-Profit Founder ~ Robert Trinidad March 17, 2018

Our organization was founded soon after our eight year old daughter was exploited online by a sexual predator. We found very few resources in the CSRA to help our family through this type of trauma. We knew someone needed to step up and make a difference, so Hope Today For A Better Tomorrow was born. The goal of the organization is to bring training, education, and awareness to the very real dangers of child sexual exploitation, and to provide healing and hope for those who have been affected. We currently have training materials and an outsourced staff of psychologists to help children and families through the aftermath. Our organization maintains a public presence by partnering with various organizations and churches throughout the community. We do speaking events and are happy to speak with you about how we can bring awareness to your business or organization.

So, Child Sexual Exploitation and Sex trafficking… What is it really? It is not like the movie Taken, less than 10% of victims are abducted and forced. So how does it happen? By building relationships, earning trust, taking advantage of knowing someone's dreams and fears. It is a woman being forced to strip or have sex with people for the profit of someone else. It is someone that is sexually satisfying someone for food, shelter or a job. So why do they do it? Out of fear of physical harm to them or their family, psychological abuse as well as verbal abuse. This happens everyday here in the CSRA, do you see it?  87% of children involved in the commercial sex trade are U.S. citizens. Everyday children are sexually exploited within our schools, churches, community organizations by those who we trust to lead and protect them. Sex trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise, the 2nd in regards to profitability only behind drugs, and consider this… There are more slaves today than any other point in human history. Yet we do not hear much about this. Focus only on our location for a moment. Masters week, did you know it's the 2nd largest single event for trafficking only behind the Super Bowl? and Atlanta is the #1 city for trafficking in the country? Yet we still do not hear much about it. At what point do we as a society or even within our community do we say enough is enough? It is up to us to protect our children, to leave a better, a safer world for them. Unfortunately this is the world we have created for them to grow up and so it is up to us to make the change for them. You Can Stop The Demand For Child Sexual Exploitation!

We are always accepting donations, and are grateful for anything you can contribute. Your money goes directly to our training supplies so that we can get information out to schools, churches, and businesses.Thank you for partnering with us and helping us stand strong in the fight against the war on our children. No longer should we accept the things we cannot change, instead we should change the things we cannot accept!

We invite you to learn more about our organization and protecting our communities children. Join us at our annual Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Dinner being held March 20th from 5pm-9pm at the Legends Club of Augusta. For more information and to purchase your tickets click HERE.
