Pullin' For Little Pullen - Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

MacKid Evans Cares! Great Causes & Community Support

By Monica Seabourn, Macaroni Kid Publisher Mom November 5, 2019

MacKid Cares is spotlighting the amazing Talon Pullen, his fight for life, and his family's fight for a cure.  The Pullens are a local family who, with the support of their friends and community, are hoping to raise awareness and funds to support those living with Cystic Fibrosis.  Their online auction, which runs November 12 - November 17, highlights just that.  Their overall goal, like so many, is to find a cure for this life threatening disease that affects Talon and over 30,000 other Americans.  All funds donated to Pullin' For Little Pullen go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!

Let's learn a little more about Talon, his family, and the reason why they fight!  Here's a letter from Talon's mom, Natalie:

"Talon was born on May 5th, 2010. It is only fitting that he was born on Cinco de Mayo because this kid has an extra dose of joy and excitement about life.  A few weeks later, we received the devastating news that he had cystic fibrosis.  It has a been a long journey, but there have been so many wonderful things along the way. Right now Talon has to do a minimum of 2 breathing treatments with vest percussion a day, and he takes more than 40 pills daily. His disease will progress and the average life expectancy is 40ish. I am so thankful for those who have come before us raising money and awareness to get that number so high! But we need a cure. We so desperately want our kid to have every opportunity that every other child does. And by golly, we will do our best to keep this kid alive as long as possible.

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. We are doing the auction for my sweet little love who lives with this horrible disease everyday!  Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By participating and working on this auction, I am helping add tomorrows to my sons life as well as the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support us by making an item donation to our auction, making a cash donation, becoming a corporate sponsor, or participating during the auction on November 12-17th. You can also join us for our Great Strides Walk in May."
